Todd is the gentleman of the yard. A calm sweetnatured boy, with a very clever brain. He knows he is every bit the superstar and loves nothing more than an audience to show his moves off to. A very gentle horse to be around he loves to steal hats in the winter time and play with the bobbles on top. Loves his scratches but not as much as he adores his rider!

Ballyj Elsa – Stable name Elsa

This homebred mare was bred from their mare Young Ginger Hill, and the wonderful TB Sire Spirit House. This mare has shown her ability from a young age, her 4th ever show was the Dressage Ireland National Championships at the age of 4. Backed by her talented husband Fintan, Sinead has been training this mare since the very beginning.

A mare who loves to work and learn new things, Elsa has collected a wall of ribbons and regularly scores 70% and above in her tests, and has done this consistently through the levels from Young Horse Classes to Advanced Medium. A winner as a 5 year old of a HSI Development Series Qualifier, this young mare has never been out of the the top three placings at Dressage Ireland National Championships. Elsa also brought home the titles of

“Breeder of the Leading Horse”

“Owner of the Leading Mare”

“Breeder of the Leading Traditional Irish Sport Horse”

in the Irish Horse Breeders awards in Dressage, 2022! The only single horse to win all awards.

Elsa loves her grub, she is not impressed if her room service is delayed, or at least delayed in her mind! A mare who also loves to jump, and does so regularly, this talented miss also loves her cuddles and a pamper session.

Ballyj Ed – Stable name Ed

This homebred gelding is showing every sign of being just as clever and willing as his “auntie” Elsa. Black Hero, the RID stallion, is Ed’s Sire and a half brother to Elsa. New to competition as Ed is just a 5 yr old, already his calm nature and adaptability is proving to have winning ways.

Ed qualified for the Eventing Starter stakes with his first ever two shows, and was placed 7th on finals day in a huge class. An incredible achievement for any horse but an exceptional one for a horse on his 3rd ever day out.

Winner of the National Eventing Discovery 4yr old title at Millstreet on August 27th & 28th 2022. Ridden by Godfrey Gibbons, Ed produced two faultless displays of jumping over two days to claim the title from a large field of 29 of the best horses.

November 2022 Ed was ridden by Sinead McGrath to another National Title in the Dressage Ireland HSI Development Series, claiming the 4yr old title in some style. This horse simply is star quality.
